What is the best website to start a blog that I eventually want to make revenue with?

I plan on starting a blog and would eventually like to bring in ad revenue, should I start out on a free website or should I buy a domain?

It depends,if you ware good at writing and you know you will be really good at blogging, then perhaps getting a paid site would be better but I think trying a free site is good because if its not your thing, its free. I use a free site, and I still am making money off it, its a slow proccess but the more you do the more money you will make. I use l0lz because its really good. They got a support forum if you need help getting your blogs going. I have adsense on nearly all my blogs (except for the newest two or so) and it can rack up if you do it right. But like I said if your unsure, strart with free, then create some paid ones if your free ones work out a bit. Happy blogging :)

As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your blog site: 1- Buy a domain name. To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

If you’re going to start your blog at your own domain with different pages, you need a web host providing wordpress.

Take a look at: http://www.threehosts.com/blog

There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the blog website hosting industry.

Hope this helps.

If you want to host it free, I recommend blogspot. They are owned by Google and they let you put up Adsense ads, from which you can make money.

The benefit of owning your own domain, is that it grows like a business and one day you might want to sell it. With free hosting it has next to no resale value. Web hosting costs about 5 dollars a month and you can make that much fairly easily.

Below is an article that can help guide you through setting up a blog.

You need a web host supporting wordpress.
