I go through Yahoo! Web Hosting and use affiliate marketing with Amazon.com to make money. I created www.yankeesofthesouth.com, and Yahoo only charges me like $10/month. You can make that back with ads you post on your page.

2. Affiliate sales: You put affiliate links on your site, if someone clicks on one and buys something you get a percentage. Ebay, Amazon, Commission Junction and Clickbank are good examples.
3. Reviews: You write a review of another site or product and you get paid to do it.
Number 2 and 3 are better money spinners while 1 is easy money.

You can add Google AdSense ads (www.adsense.com) or Yahoo Publisher Network ads to your blog and make money everytime someone clicks on an ad. You can also join a site such as Commission Junction (www.cj.com) and add direct links to various websites and earn a percentage of the commission on product sales.
3.) How to make your blog popular? You can submit your blog to various social bookmarking websites such as Digg.com, Delicious.com, Propeller.com and more! You can also join various blogging forums such as http://www.BlogProducer.com and add the site to your signature and post lots of messages so that your link appears on as many pages as possible.
Blogging is an art and takes time to master, but once you learn how to do it its great! I recommend joining an existing online community like BlogProducer.com and post messages so that other bloggers in the community can help and respond. You will learn very fast that way!
