I want to start a blog for profit is there something that can walk me through the process and is free?

My job recently shut down and the bills are piling up! I have two kids and I don't want to pay someone to work for them that is crazy! I need a free service that will teach me how to blog for profit and aid me in building my site.

Sorry, I have to answer this question with another question.

If there was a free place that helped you get set up in business, walking you through the process of how to get the business started, how to market the business and how earn a profit doing it don't you think everyone would be going there?

With tat question out of the way, the first thing you need is a unique idea that people will want. In business this "unique idea" can be a product. For a blog this "Unique idea" can be a topic.

The first thing I would recommend is to see if you can handle blogging on a regular basis. Most blogs fail because coming up with something each day to write about that people will want to read is not an easy task. Think about it, that's 260 articles in one year. All while keeping the reader's attention enough to make them come back everyday to see what you have to say. Blogging may seem like it is simple, but it is work. You need to know design (a cool layout for the blog), marketing (to get people to know abut your blog), creative writing (to keep people interested), and be a relative expert on a subject (to give people information they want).

Your first stop should be to check out some blogs about how to blog.
