How do I make my own blog template?

I would love to know how to make my own custom blog template, but can't seem to find any info on how exactly. When I Googled it, I just got free template websites or info on coding. Is it all in the coding on your blog? Or is there a way I can create something on say, Photoshop, and upload it?

After you have the basics down, you can try downloading other templates for your blogging software and attempting to understand how they work. More than likely they will have sections defined for where the actual content goes.

Although a lot of site mock-ups are done in Photoshop, they eventually have to be converted to HTML. If you perform a web-search for "psd to html" you should find a number of people that will convert your Photoshop file into working HTML. Most will charge a fee, though.

In order to make your blog template work, you will need to search for free templates designed for the type of blog you have. A blogspot blog is different from a Livejournal blog, and they're nothing like Wordpress. If you examine several free themes, you can start to see how they did it. I don't recommend that anybody without lots of experience try to design a Wordpress theme themselves.
