How can I remove a blog which is defamatory?

A blog has been created about me, and I would like to remove it, but I do not own the blog. It is hurtful and defamatory, and I fear it could affect me if people begin to do research on me. Can I remove it myself? Or is there anybody that can help me?

Of course you cant remove it yourself and if it shows up on the first page of google when you search your name, it probably would effect you.

If it is hosted on a free hosting plan, like wordpress.com/blogspot.com /myspace/ then you can contact the site admin via a link thats usually on the bottom of all the pages and explain your problem.

But if it is on somebodies paid domain you can try and contact the host (like godaddy) and explain the situation.

But people are entitle to an opinion and your name is not protected, you have to prove that the the words are libelous or slander and possible file civil charges to demand removal - this is not an easy thing to do

Contact the bloging site. most blogs are on Bloger or Wordpress, contact them abouthe material, you may have to prove it's you though, to stop abuse of hte sytem, and they poseter may have the right to appeal.
